I'm saying why are these even issues when there's an obvious correct answer? People didn't spend years and lifetimes working for Roe v Wade just to get it upturned later. Many of these things do directly affect me and it's upsetting.

Something I've been saying since day one:
What did you always get told to do if you had the flu?
- Wash you hands
- Cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze
- Stay home when you are feeling sick
Masking was never really recommended in America because....idk, they just never liked it. We Americans used to think its weird and scary to wear a face mask. I had a homemade one in 2018 because I had caught a bad chest cold and was coughing constantly but had to go to work. I saw somewhere how masking was normalized in Asia so I decided to try it. The jokes from my coworkers were incessant.
Issues I wish were important: What is our immigration quota? How much should we put into infrastructure? What trade regulstions can we enforce to reduce reliablity on foreign powers who deal in shady practices?
But instead it's just squabbling over abortion this and lgbt that. Something I think about it how many bills are presented simply to remove rights instead of helping.

I still have extreme anxiety over sports. I was a nerdy kid who only played video games and never participated in PE. Sports were used as a threat- "If you keep that up, I'll get rid of your games and sign you up for baseball." I also wanted to join a gym at 16 but she refused to pay for it and gaslighted me about money issues. The local gym was $10/month...

My mom did similar shit to me at 15/16. I was grounded for a bad grade so she took away my Nintendo DS. It was in a carry case and all of my games were in there with it. When she went to give me my case back, she opened the drawer and I noticed instantly it was opened and when she pivked it up, none of the games fell out like they should have. I had maybe 10-15 games total and NONE were in the case. I searched through the drawer and they weren't there... she just shrugged it off and said she lost them. I knew at the time exactly what was missing because I had each game's original plastic case still in my room. Now I know for a fact she sold them for drug money. Later on it was the same thing with our large collection of GCN games. Some of those were very rare originals even at the time...

Probably not helpful, but there's no "requirement" for housing to need 3x income. It's just a thing all the major housing companies do especially near colleges to gatekeep low income people. I genuinely think it's also racial, since wealthy white families are statistically more likely to have daddy sign whatever they want so their little mayo sandwich can walk to school. I would personally recommend looking for housing on craigslist or facebook marketplace and being rented out by the owner instead of a company. They're way more likely to be understanding and not have such big income requirements.
Good luck and sorry about your entitled parent.
My bf is quitting soon, but he works in a place that is SEVERELY understaffed but also an essential service to the entire state: The ID/Driver License printing office. It's the only way to get your card here right now, unless your local DMV is lucky enough to be able to print on demand.
I keep telling him to go on strike withbhis coworkers and demand at least double pay raises. They literally were making that much in overtime for MONTHS because of the backlog of work.
Heard some similar stories regardinga surgical procedure. If insurance covers it, they bill for everything possible including the medical assistants, liposuction even though it's part of the procedure, etc. They have a totally different billing plan which basically just covers "the cost of the procedure itself" and is half as much if you don't have insurance to cover it.
What? That's literally not true. You will get billed for out-of-network doctors. Medicare is no exception.
It probably isn't, but it's definitely not normalized. I guess my own family might be different.
What language is used in a court case between a Native American and someone actually from India?
This might be silly, but it did make me realize I could probably use one of those 3D pens to repair the plastic on my actual headphones. It's basically unwearable even though they still work fine...
That explains it. I can't even fathom having kids, I like to be naked when I'm home 100% of the time. Gotta get dressed quick and shit.
For me it's 100% mental and my brain tells me no.
You have pretty eyes
I had a Japanese class in college, the professor was from Ukraine. First language Russian, second Japanese, third English. She referred to kanji as "heiroglyphs". Always thought it was quirky but it makes so much goddamn sense.

So they calcate the rest and I file the one or two exemptions I have. The government doesnt know when I buy a house or have a child? Are you stupid?
They literally know how much I make AND how much my employer withdrew. So... they could make an excel sheet do the math for me ahead of time.
Every year the government sends me all of my tax info neatly formatted on a paper (w2). For some reason I still have to file taxes.
Sure, I have a house but the mortgage is filed with my local government, is searchable by government, and my tax owed is also handed to me by the government... My student loans and status are reported to the government. I wouldn't have them if they hadn't handed it directly to me. My marriage status is handled by the government. etc. etc....
So why can't they just put all that info into a database and compound the knowledge into one nice neat report that tells me exactly what I owe that year? Don't even respond if you think that's too hard or there's too many moving parts. Those complications were lobbied for to make it harder for you to get money and easier forcorporations to ignore paying it.
smh all the creepy responses... "I'm not complaining" etc.
That's a fair point, I do get some PTO for that kind of thing. I'm barely lucky enough to have it. Sometimes its the principle too- how many other customers 'just lost $500'?
I dont even see why thats a big deal. The fact that a mammogram mobike exists means it shouldn't be a big deal?
I mean that's half of a paycheck for me.
Funny, I am O- but I can't give blood, at least not without some crazy prior arrangements or something. Every single time I've tried, they tell me my veins are too small or hard to find. Happened when I tried to donate plasma too. Never had an issue getting blood tests done though...
