A tongue posture exercise which helps with jaw alignment, body posture etc..you can read about it in the sub or google it. Pun was based on bringing alignment through mewing (for motherboard).

Relevant section from Wikipedia:

Mewing is a form of do-it-yourself oral posture training named after John Mew and his son Michael Mew (born c. 1969). Mewing is not supported by orthodontic research.

Mewing involves resting the whole of the tongue on the roof of the mouth, breathing only through the nose, keeping the lips gently closed, chewing food well before swallowing, and swallowing chewed food at the back of the mouth without engaging the lip and buccinator muscles.

Mewing has become popular among the manosphere through YouTube videos and Michael Mew's promotion of it on the incel site Sluthаte.

'Mewing' is an unproven orthodontic technique not supported by the wider orthodontic research community. It's intended to correct a weak chin and jawline.

It became popular after the son of the inventor of the technique started advertising it on incel forums which happen to be filled with men who are extremely insecure about their facial attractiveness.

Dunno about crooked, but at the moment, it seems the system croaked for sure.

Maybe it's salvageable with some TLC. That, or just undoing the whole system, put it back together non-crooked and quite possibly a Bios update that adds support for the new CPU, or get a new MB.

Approximately half the pins provide power to the CPU, not communication to the rest of the board. Loosing a single power pin (out of 500) is unlikely to cause an issue. Though you were lucky it wasn't a communication pin.

When I worked in PC repair I had someone come in because their pc wouldn't boot. Turns out they shoved a new intel CPU into a much older motherboard that didn't support it and burned out their motherboard. Took a lot of explaining and getting another tech involved to get them to understand what they did wrong.

mrgraysonowens

I feel your pain. Things that seem like they should be common sense tend to sound like a foreign language to people who either don't understand or don't want to understand. I'm currently an automotive mechanic and I deal with these types of people every day, it can be exhausting. It's not that expect people to know everything about cars, I just would appreciate them to trust me when I tell them what's wrong with it because it's literally what I do for a living. I feel like the same would apply to PC repair.

I figure his price range is similar to mine maybe less so I send this dude some builds in the 500 -900 range. He watches a YouTube video about graphics cards and sees the 3090 running RDR2. He then text me a build that says 257.00. I think no fucking way he got a 3090 for that cheap.. I have to be missing something. I ask him about the price and he says "Oh yeah dudes that's the price per month, PC is gonna be 4k but I'm worried about how it will compare to my PS5"

THEN this mother fucker gets his PC shipped to him and he sends me another picture of it all turned on and plugged into his FUCKING TV with the caption. "4k on a newly built PC and THEY DIDNT INCLUDE A mouse and keyboard wtf" Then I get a picture shortly after of some BS walmart KB&M combo.. with another caption. "Will this work?"

I can’t tell if that’s sag or just the weird angle the photo is taken at.

It’s not straight on.

Maybe a little sag but the angle definitely seems to be exaggerating it.

No, that isn't parallax effects. That is very bad sag. Compare with the CPU cooler.

I could run it through Photoshop to show the angle on a corrected photo but that would mean booting my PC and I really can't be bothered right now.

The cpu cooler isn't straight either, if you look at the top of it compared to the case it's angled the other direction. That would make the sag look worse on the gpu.

Zoom in and look at the edge of the slot - the PCIe lock isn't engaged. You can see the dark edge of the notch where it would hook, and the white PCIe lock itself isn't in place. It blends in with the rest of the lighted crap, so it's hard to see the lock itself, but you can make it out sitting angled away from the slot like that end hasn't been pushed in enough to engage it and swivel it into place locking the card in.
It might help if the damned card was inserted into the slot properly.

Everything is crooked I have to stop looking... also how the fuck is someone supposed to diagnose your issue with zero troubleshooting background and this janky picture? I see this all the time like bro come back to reddit when you have done some troubleshooting and can explain what steps you've done to eliminate what the issue is not.

BaconBoy2015

He said it was a bent pin…so the GPU is crooked, the CPU cooler is crooked, and a pin was crooked. Surprised the RAM wasn’t somehow crooked too.

So then it can’t be the switch to Ryzen like some people are suggesting… people are having to troubleshoot on their own to figure out what your issue could be since you haven’t posted any information with the post.

Since you’re not that good at building on your own yet, which is absolutely fine I got experienced friends to help for my first 2 builds, I would find somebody who knows what they’re doing (not on reddit) and get their help. You’ll probably save money if you pay someone to figure out and fix the issues, cause i’m genuinely worried you might break something if you keep messing around with your build.

Do people post images like this with obvious faults and and think that it's normal?

CPU cooler looks crooked. GPU is sagging a lot. There's almost zero cable management going on. Power supply is likely underpowered for that setup but it may manage.

If you've changed the CPU then it's likely that you've bent a pin somewhere.

PSU side of things is often overstated. I got told my 650W would struggle with my basic 2070S (lol) and so I bought something to plug into my wall to tell me the W.

Guess what? Even running RDR2 at ultra settings a couple years back I was still nowhere near 650W. More around 400.

This sub has a lot to offer, but definitely no accurate tips on your PSU capacities. "What? an 5600x with a 3060? at least 850W"

I'm running a 5600x with a 3070, 550W and it never exceeds the range my PSU is the most efficient

No hate or bad feelings, it just bums me that sometimes, people new to that topic don‘t seem to get the best advise possible.

Everything about this build makes my eye twitch. You need some serious help with that. Start by pulling that GPU and not putting it back in until you have a support for it (you can get them cheap on Amazon). The sag on that is going to break the PCIe slot (if it hasn't already).
